Apparently, it took a lot of work to satisfy this customer.
Multiple reshoots were required, each meticulously inspected.
If the photo was too light, then her white hair blended too much with the white backdrop and vanished. If the picture was given enough contrast and color adjustment to create separation from the background, (while staying within the strict limits of the automated “Good Enough For Government” software), it turned slightly yellow, and this was not acceptable either.
In the end, after much heart ache and fussing about, a compromise was achieved. I believe her parting comment was, “Well, I suppose it’s just a passport photo. It’s not the end of the world.” -Which I thought would have made a good punchline, but couldn’t quite get it to fit without turning this episode into a multi-page epic.
In any case.., it was generally agreed that while the whole effort was tiresome, Moms are worth the trouble.
